Scenario planner

/team/scenario (Team → Scenario tab) is a what-if modeling tool. No persistence — it's a calculator.

What it does

Shows a grid of your people (rows) × active/planned projects (columns). Each cell is an editable hypothetical weekly hours input, prefilled with the person's current allocation on that project. Change a cell and see live:

  • Per-person row total — if over the cap (default 40h/week), cell turns red.
  • Per-project column total — if weekly × 4.33 exceeds the project's monthly budget, shown in red with a filled bar past 100%.

Use cases

  • "What if I pull Clement off Project A and onto Project B 20h/week?" — zero out the A cell, enter 20 in the B cell, see if Clement's row stays green.
  • "Can we fit a new project with 60h/month budget across 3 people?" — add 5h/week each to 3 rows in the new column, check the bar stays under 100%.
  • "Who has slack?" — scan row totals for people well below the cap.

Scope

  • Managers see their direct reports + themselves. Admins see everyone.
  • No save button. To commit a scenario to real allocations, open each project's detail page and edit the People tab manually.
  • Budgets used are the budget_hours field per project. If it's unset, no budget bar shows.
